Yard-waste
The Town of Fishkill Brush Drop Off Area is located off of NYS Route
52 on Geering Way behind the Highway Garage. It is for the
purpose of brush only. NO limbs larger than 4 inches in
diameter, N0 commercial dumping and NO building
material dumping allowed. The Brush Drop Off Area is open on
Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and proof of residency is required.

Burning Permits
Open burning in the Town of Fishkill is no longer permitted. This
is not a Town law but a New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation law. This law does not apply to: barbeque grills, small
cooking & camp fires, ceremonial or celebratory bonfires, disposal
of a flag or religious article, and fire training exercises. The new

Battery Disposal
Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency, located at 41 Sand Dock
Road, Poughkeepsie, accepts all kinds of batteries. For more
information contact the Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency at
(845) 463-6020.
Recycling
Since 1991 all Dutchess County residents have been required to keep
certain items separated from their trash for recycling. The following
items should be separated from trash for recycling: glass bottles and
jars, tin cans, aluminum foil products, plastic bottles, newspapers
and corrugated cardboard. For more information contact Royal Carting
