Notice to Rombout Water District Customers:
The Town of Fishkill is requesting bids for improvements to the Rombout Water District. The project scope of work includes isolating a storage tank from the system and adjusting pressures in the water mains. This work might affect the plumbing in your home or business.
The Rombout system has several Pressure-Regulating Valves (PRV’s) controlling pressure in the mains. After isolating the tank, the town will adjust the control settings on the PRV’s to achieve an improved pressure balance and to prevent, where practical, unsuitably high pressures within the system.
The Town building code requires each water connection to a building to have a functioning PRV located on the inlet water supply to the building. We urge you to check to see that a properly installed PRV is installed in your home or business. A photograph of a typical PRV is included below for information. If you have a functioning PRV, you should not experience any problems. If you do not have a PRV, you should consult with a qualified plumber to have one installed.
Please be aware that during the project, service interruptions may occur. We will inform you about schedules and any other pertinent information when available. The majority of the work is anticipated to be complete by the end of the year 2018. This project is funded by cash reserves in the Rombout Water District.
